The National Botanic Gardens of Ireland, Kilmacurragh is open daily from 09:00 to 16:30, with last entry to the gardens at 16:00 (winter opening hours). The Acton Café is open daily and offers a wide variety of dishes, including vegetarian and gluten free options, and uses the freshest local ingredients available.

The botanic gardens and walks are open every day throughout the year except 25 December (Christmas Day). There is no admission fee to walk and explore.

Please note that the usual rules apply: dogs must be kept on a leash; no ball games are allowed, sports, bicycles, tricycles, scooters, or other vehicles (except wheelchairs); no kites or drones.

Guided tours Free guided tours at 12:00 and 15:00 daily from March to October.

From November to February free guided tours can be booked by emailing kilmacurraghgardens@opw.ie.   

    • Meeting point for tours is at the entrance gates to the gardens (near the Café).
    • Suitable outdoor clothing/footwear advised.
    • Booking is essential for all bus/coach tours.
    • Group tours are welcome – advance booking is required.
