Adult and Community

Botany is for Everyone!

Adult Learners

The National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, has an exciting ongoing programme of events for adult learners with diverse interests, needs and learning styles. Our programme includes themed tours, public lectures, workshops, and horticulture classes. Most education activities are free, so come and explore!

For details on upcoming talks and workshops see our calendar. Booking is sometimes required; see individual event for details, and contact us with any queries.

Community and Outreach

Our community engagement and outreach service expands our learning programme beyond the walls of the Garden. Through projects and events we reach out into the community, and work with groups who might not otherwise access the our public programme.

The Education Garden

Our new outdoor classroom! The garden was built to commemorate twenty-five years of the Erasmus Programme. The scheme gives university students the opportunity to continue their studies in another European country. Featuring plants from across Europe, as well as providing an outdoor classroom and opportunities for people of all ages to get hands-on experience with horticulture and botany. A generous grant from the Higher Education Authority enabled the construction of this garden.
