The National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, are open every day, all year round, except for Christmas Day.

The National Botanic Gardens Glasnevin are currently open for Winter Hours, from 9.00am to 4.30pm on weekdays and 10am to 4.30pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays. The Gardens at both Glasnevin and Kilmacurragh are open every day throughout the year, except 25th December (Christmas Day). There is no admission fee to walk and explore.

Christmas Opening Hours. The Gardens in Glasnevin are open Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th December from 10am to 4.30pm. We are closed Wednesday 25th, and open Thursday 26th 10am to 4.30pm. We will then revert to regular winter opening hours. 

The Visitor Centre desk will be closed Tuesday 24th to Friday 27th December inclusive and will reopen again on Saturday 28th December.

The Garden Tearoom at Glasnevin is closed from Tuesday 24th to Thursday 26th December inclusive and will reopen on Friday 27th from 11am – 4pm. Normal hours resume on the 28th December.

The Heritage Card

Get free admission to all fee-paying OPW Heritage Sites in Ireland for one year from the date of first use with the Heritage Card! Heritage Cards are available from the ticket desk in most OPW Heritage Sites and represent great value: in Dublin, for example, you can get free entry to Dublin Castle, Kilmainham Gaol, or Casino Marino with the Heritage Card. At the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, entry is free for all but guided tours usually require a paid ticket. Holders of the Heritage Card may access these guided tours for free on production of a valid Heritage Card.

Student (valid student ID required) €10.00
Child (12-17) €10
Family (max. 2 adults & 5 children) €90

School Bookings
