Dr. Niamh Shaw, a performer, scientist and engineer, is passionate about awakening people’s curiosity. She has collaborated with Prof Bruce Osborne of UCD School of Biology and Environmental Science to present ‘Speaking with Plants’ at the Gardens at 14:30 on Saturday 28th June. The event will highlight the importance of plants and encourage us all to recognize the close connection between our lives and the plants around us.

Other contributors to the discussion will include Thomas P. Shaw, Secretary of County Louth Beekeepers Association (Niamh’s green fingered Dad), Matthew Jebb, Director of the National Botanic Gardens and horticulturist, garden writer and garden designer, Fionnuala Fallon the gardening correspondent for The Irish Times. The event is supported by INTEL and EuroScience. It is free, but you must register here to reserve seats.
