Paintings and Drawings from Dar es Salaam

Thursday 31st March to Wedesday 27th April

Ed Miliano was raised in Brooklyn, New York. He has worked both on staff and as a freelance designer and illustrator in New York, Washington D.C., Ireland and Lesotho. Ed last had a successful show at the National Botanic Gardens in 2004, when he exhibited a collection of flower paintings originally done for Heritage Gardening.

Ed Miliano's present collection of Paintings and Drawings are inspired by his recent sojourn in Tanzania. Ed has produced a large body of work featuring the beautiful Frangipani tree and the Indian house crow (right). Ed returned to Dublin during the Summer of 2010 and has continued to work on the Dar es Salaam paintings. The exhibition is open daily in the Gallery Space, Education and Visitor Centre.

Ed has donated one of his paintings to be sold by silent auction. The highest bidder by the end of the day on 27 April 2011 will secure picture no 16 (below). All proceeds will be donated to Concern Worldwide. The cost of framing has been donated by Artisan Frames. Bids may be made by telephone to 01 857 0909.
