Daily Guided Tours During Season
Join one of our knowledgeable guides for a tour of Kilmacurragh that takes you from the seventeenth century, when Saint Mochorog established the abbey, right up to the present day. Hear the fascinating stories of various members of the Acton family who lived in the house, and discover the magnificent and exotic plant specimens in our collection.
Guided tours are twice daily (12 noon and 3pm) from April onwards. Meet your guide and the rest of the group in the car park at these times. The tour takes about an hour. Seasonal and themed special guided tours also take place during the year. These include guided tours during National Tree Day in October, special Rhododendron Walks in March, and events for Heritage Week. Check our calendar for updates.
The guiding team at Kilmacurragh is delighted to offer free school tours and to welcome private groups (advance booking essential). For school and group bookings or enquiries, please contact us.
The gardens themselves are magnificent and the winter colours were spectacular. Lots of very unusual and even strange looking tropical plants. And the scene at the pond made for a spectacular photo.CRRG Dublin on Tripadvisor
Lovely gardens on an old estate, now being used to conserve and protect selected native and foreign plants. A short walk with a truly expert guide (Claire), a yummy lunch of scones with jam and cream, and clean, spacious toilets.Robyn C. on Tripadvisor
A hidden gem in Wicklow, near Dublin. We went to photograph the bluebells and found white bluebells also! Angela was our wonderful guide for the 12pm walk, and does she know and love her history and plants! We brought a picnic, as the day was so lovely.Christy on Tripadvisor
