Join us for a stroll through the gardens where we’ll take a look at plants that have inspired hobbies and pastimes in the past. What plants did the ancients use for weaving? How did the Victorian craze of fern-collecting affect our ferns in Ireland? What sort of things did people collect in the garden? Join us for a fascinating look at plant-related hobbies and pastimes in times past including mushroom collecting, jam-making, wood for sports, musical instruments and exotic plant growing, to name but a few. Tour organised to coincide with National Heritage Week.
